How are QR code e-tickets generated?

After successful payment, the server generates a signed JWT token encoding the booking ID, showtime, and seats. This token is encoded as a QR code image and emailed to the customer. At the cinema entrance, the staff app decodes and validates the QR code against the database in real time.

How does the seat map work?

Each screen has a configured layout stored as a JSON schema defining rows, seat types, and coordinates. The frontend renders this as an interactive SVG. Seats are colour-coded: available (green), held by others (grey), selected by current user (blue), and booked (red).

How does the monthly pass work?

A pass holder pays a monthly flat fee. The platform records their ticket redemptions. Each redemption checks: is the pass active? Has the monthly movie limit been reached? Is the showtime format included in the pass tier (standard vs. premium including IMAX)? The ticket cost is then $0 for covered formats.
